About

My Logo

I am dual citizen of Brazil and the United States. I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil but moved to the United States at the age of eleven.

In 2007, I received a bachelors of science in Neuroscience and a minor in Arts from the College of William & Mary. Following graduation, I sought to pair my passion in Art with my interest in biological sciences. I was afraid I may have to sacrifice one of my loves to find a career, but then I learned about medical illustration. Finding a field where my artistic talent would be used to communicate medical and scientific information, I knew I had found my calling.

I received a Masters in Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Biomedical Visualization program. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) in cooperation with the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) Accreditation Review Committee. In 2012, I became a Certified Medical Illustrator Board of Certification of Medical Illustrators.

Gabi,
